MCC condemns the recent bomb threat to Jewish Centre


MCC condemns the recent bomb threat to Jewish Centre Muslim Council of Calgary (MCC) and its affiliate organizations condemn the recent bomb threat directed towards Jewish Community in Calgary.

According to The Canadian Jewish News, (…/c…/calgary-jcc-bomb-threat-evacuated) the Calgary Jewish Community Centre was evacuated on Monday Feb 27, following a bomb threat. The threat was telephoned in around 5:45 p.m., Judy Shapiro, associate executive director of the Calgary Jewish Federation, told The Canadian Jewish News.

The incident comes amid a spate of threats directed towards different faiths in United States and Canada. There have been various acts of vandalism aimed at diverse communities.


Muslim Council of Calgary condemns these acts of intimidation as it believes in strong communities through mutual support and respect. Calgary Jewish Community has contributed positively to the fabric of Canadian society and deserves the respect it has earned over years.

Muslim Council of Calgary condemns all violence and threats of violence directed towards innocent human beings, irrespective of race, gender, religion, culture or ethnicity. We request the entire community to continue to build positive bridges and denounce hostile acts and discourage the anti-Semitic and anti-Muslim sentiments fuels by a small minority trying to disrupt the peace and order within Canadian Society.
